Smile Sale Wish List Linky Party

I'm linking up with Jen from Teaching in the Tongass to share the top Wish Listed items from my TeachersPayTeachers store

I created this Canada social studies unit to use with Grade 2 and Grade 3. I used parts of it in my third grade class and my colleague used the rest with her second graders. There are so many different ways to mix and match the worksheets and templates to create a foldable lapbook.

This Community Workers interview project is one of my all-time favourites to use with Grade 2.  My students built a town out of papier mache milk cartons and took on the role of a community worker. Inside this packet you will find interview and report templates, presentation rubrics, and self, peer, and teacher evaluations.

This Current Events packet is one I am currently using with my fifth grade class. We've been doing weekly current events presentations, and my students love receiving the All-Star Reporter awards. This packet includes everything you need to get started!

My entire store will be 20% off on Monday and Tuesday. Is your cart ready for the big sale? Don't forget to use the promo code SMILE for an additional 10% off!

Guide Teach Inspire
I was fortunate to be paired up with Jane from the education blog, Guide Teach Inspire! Jane is a third grade teacher from Wisconsin.
Jane shared her Physics of Hockey packet with me. My fifth graders were thoroughly engaged as they investigated the force and motion used in hockey shots.

I began by asking my students to weigh in on the following question:
"Do you think there is science in sports?"

The next day, we watched a short video clip about the physics behind a slap shot, as recommended by Jane.

To set up for our experiment, each pair of students needed a ruler, paper cup, wooden stick, and circle shaped manipulative.

Each pair of students measured out the distance from the edge of the hockey net, so they would know where to set up the stick and circle.

My students were pretty intense, getting right down to eye level with the net before they made their shots.

You can see Jane's booklet off to the right where the students recorded their results.

Thanks for this fun activity that helped us make the connection between sports and physics, Jane!

Keep reading to find out how you can win Jane's packet and everything else pictured below.
